Sarah Di Iorio is a Toronto-based dancer and choreographer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University. In her final year, she was awarded the Nadia Potts Heart and Soul Scholarship, recognizing her exceptional passion, leadership, and commitment to the arts. Alongside her university education, Sarah trained with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, engaging with a diverse range of international choreographers and artists. Prior to graduating, she participated in a creation residency in Greece, performing an original work on the islands of Hydra and Poros.

Her professional career has since spanned both national and international stages. She has performed at renowned festivals including Jacob’s Pillow, Le Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur, Fall for Dance North, and TIFF’s Red Carpet Event with Hit & Run Dance Productions. Sarah toured North America with Red Sky Performance in Trace, the company’s Dora Award-winning production, and has performed locally in works by ProArteDanza, Kaeja d’Dance, Angela Blumberg, Hanna Kiel, Canadian Stage, Dusk Dances, and numerous independent choreographers. As a choreographer herself, Sarah’s work has been supported through residencies for both professional and pre-professional artists. Her most recent creation, Meet You At The Surface, premiered at Night Shift 2024, co-presented by Citadel + Compagnie and Fall for Dance North. The piece was later featured at The Garage and The Four Seasons Centre Amphitheatre as part of DaCo 2025. She looks forward to returning to rehearsal with ProArteDanza for their Fall 2025 season, with performances scheduled for October 31st – November 2nd.

In addition to her work on stage, Sarah is also active in dance for film and television. Her first professional engagement came as a young artist when she was cast in Seasons 1–3 of Family Channel’s hit series The Next Step, gaining her full status as an ACTRA member. More recently, she performed the principal role of Ariadne in Schafer’s Labyrinth, a dance film directed by Barbara Willis Sweete and choreographed by Angela Blumberg. The film, created as a tribute to R. Murray Schafer for the Molinari Quartet, highlights Sarah’s continued passion for screen-based performance alongside her live stage work.

Sarah is also a passionate educator. She has worked closely with Kenny Pearl as a demonstrator and assistant at Toronto Metropolitan University and Dance Arts Institute. She is a returning guest artist at several arts-focused high schools across the GTA, including Cawthra Park, Iona, Unionville and Alexander Mackenzie. She teaches in a variety of styles and choreographs works for each school’s spring performances, as well as choreographing the winter musical, Something Rotten, at Cawthra Park. Whether through choreography, performance, or mentorship, Sarah remains committed to sharing her love and knowledge of dance with the next generation of artists.
